Syracuse

Syracuse is a lovely city, rich in history and culture. The home of Archimedes, in 2005 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. With its mild climate all year round and its blue, green and ever-changing sea that invites you to dive in every season, Syracuse offers you the opportunity to spend an unforgettable holiday.

Syracuse lies on the south-eastern coast of Sicily. It has varied geographical features with hills, holes and caves and two rivers lapping the southwest side of the city. The city is almost entirely surrounded by the sea with a mostly rocky and jagged coastline showing several promontories, bays, small islands and peninsulas.

The city extends partly on the island of Ortygia and partly on the mainland. Its peculiar geographical location has made it famous for its sunsets. Thanks to the zenith points from which the sunsets are observed they have been described over the millennia as among the most beautiful in the world.
